A FAMILY TRADITION
Trevor Busch knew he was going to be a part of his family’s Primerica business since childhood. “Dad started with Primerica when I was five years old,” remembers Trevor.1, 2 “I was raised surrounded by Primerica. Back in the 1980s, dad would take me to the office, and I would help him get ready for his meetings — in the way a kid would. I helped clean the place and put out the marketing materials. It was great fun for me. In fact, we are in the same office to this day. I never remember a time when Primerica wasn’t a big part of my life.”

EMBRACING THE OPPORTUNITY
It didn’t surprise anyone, certainly when after a brief stint at college and two years as a missionary in Nicaragua, Trevor returned home and joined his dad’s Primerica team. “I had done a couple of hourly jobs as a teenager, but I’d never had a full-time job. After my upbringing, I knew I could never work for someone else. I never even considered a job in the corporate world or anywhere else for that matter.”

LIVING WITHOUT FREEDOM WASN’T AN OPTION
“I had grown up watching my dad have total control over his schedule,” Trevor says. “In fact, one of the things I had observed as a kid was that Dad and I would go during the day to watch my sister play basketball and he’d say ‘Hey, Trevor, look around here and how many fathers do you see?’ And I would say, ‘You’re the only one.’ He would reply, ‘Exactly, and that’s because all the other dads work for someone else.’

“My father was a big part of all of his five children’s lives — and every one of us played sports and participated in musical activities. He was able to do that precisely because he had the freedom of time that Primerica offers. He worked hard for the clients he served, but he did so on his own terms. Laura and I have been able to do the same with our children. We have been able to be present in their lives while also growing a successful Primerica business.”build it together. “It’s a family business,” smiles Trevor. “I don’t disappear into a skyscraper for hours a day or go away on the road. Primerica is a people business. It’s about building relationships whether you are serving clients or training and empowering teammates. Laura is integral to that. I started in Primerica in 1997, and Laura and I married in 2001, so we’ve been together and growing in this business for nearly two and a half decades. She’s been there for it all. “The early days of getting established weren’t easy but we were doing something that we loved — something that was ours, that continued a family legacy. Now, a lot of long-time clients are planning their retirements, and they are doing so with the savings and investment plans that we helped them establish all those years ago.3 They don’t hesitate to send their friends and families to us because they know us and know we’re going to always do what’s right.”

THE TRADITION CONTINUES
The Busch family business has now extended into its third generation. “We are joined by our sons, Jaxson and Carter,” Trevor says proudly. “You can do so many things in life that are good, that are needed and that will provide you the income to live, but Primerica is unique because the core of our mission is to serve middle-income families. What we do is of great value because we help people gain control of their financial lives. That helps build stable families and stable communities. The Busch family will be in this business forever!”
