Former EMT Helps Others in Need
Harvey Grajales
Brooklyn, NY
Former Occupation: EMT
Harvey Grajales grew up in Florida, but when he was 18 years old, his family had to return to Colombia. An energetic, self-starter, Harvey was determined to get back to the U.S. and make his American Dream come true.
By the age of 23, he was back and living in Brooklyn, NY. Harvey worked as an EMT full time when he heard about the Primerica Opportunity.1 “I was hustling my resume to anyone who would read it,” says Harvey. “I got a call from a Primerica Representative, attended an Opp Night and was determined to become successful.”
“I didn’t have a fast start,” he admits. “I faced lots of trials – but every trial I endured helped me grow and build a thicker skin. I eventually started focusing more on Primerica and went part-time as an EMT.”
Suddenly, Harvey endured the trial of his life – a life-threatening encounter with a knife-wielding assailant – which left him unconscious for two weeks. “I was in ICU a total of nine months and had 18 surgeries,” Harvey remembers. While he was in the hospital, he noticed that his EMT checks stopped, but his Primerica checks kept coming even while he wasn’t able to work.2 He decided to exclusively pursue building his business. “I became a Regional Vice President two months after I was released from the hospital,” he smiles. “It was a huge accomplishment for me!”
After overcoming so many challenges, Harvey savors every moment of every day. He and his team have many more lives to change and many more dreams to fulfill. “I love what I get to do for people,” says Harvey, a proud father of two school-age children. “It’s an awesome feeling to point others to an opportunity that truly is for anyone. I especially love helping those who’ve felt left out and let down by life – like I did.”
Harvey is passionate about teaching people Primerica’s HOW MONEY WORKS™ principles.3 “I work with all kinds of clients,” he reports. “I find that people who know how to make a lot of money, never learned know how to make their money work for them. Learning Primerica’s financial concepts and making simple changes in how you ‘protect and invest’ makes a big difference over time.”
