No Excuses, Just Success
Life is unpredictable and there’s no way to prepare for every challenge you might face. The one thing you CAN do is decide that no matter what happens, you are going to take control of your own attitude and outlook – and keep moving forward!
Janet & Douglas Schroer, of Denver, CO, are great examples of leaders who experienced some significant obstacles but chose to focus instead on what is important to them: each other and building their business.
In 2003, a month after the pair were married, they were involved in a car accident on the way to a training appointment that left Janet with a mild but untreated brain injury that eventually led to significant health issues. “My health insurance wouldn’t cover treatment for nearly two years,” says Janet. “By the time I finally got the medical help I needed, I was having vision issues, and cognitive and physical problems.”
Despite the medical challenges, Janet and Douglas continued to grow their business because they firmly believed in what they were doing. “When I saw how little I knew about money before Primerica, I just HAD to learn more,” explains Janet. “I used to work as a purchasing agent but just seeing the concepts Primerica educates families on made me a huge crusader for teaching others to make sound financial decisions for their families.”
Six years after the accident Janet was fully recovered and their Primerica business was on track to help them reach their goals. Then, it happened again. “On August 8, 2010, my husband and I were in a motorcycle accident where he broke his back and I learned to fly!” recalls Janet. “We had just gotten back into the swing of things with our business and then this happened! So we moved to Las Cruces, NM, to stay with a friend and heal in the warm weather.”
As before, the Schroers put their injuries aside and let their “no excuses” attitude kick in. “We opened an office, started from scratch and got our cash flow up over the $50,000* level in less than a year!”
Today, this pair is charging full speed ahead back in Colorado where they started and they couldn’t be more excited about their future. “We have an amazing upline, who is so encouraging to us,” says Janet. “This business has changed everything for us. There is no way I would have had a job waiting for me after all those health challenges. Here, despite being laid up, our business continued to produce cash flow and we have the freedom to build our business wherever we are. This is the greatest opportunity in the world and we are surrounded by great people!”
*The cash flows stated are not intended to demonstrate the earnings of typical RVPs/representatives. Rather, the cash flows that have been cited reflect the potential that comes with building your business, and there is no guarantee that you will achieve any specific cash flow level. Most RVPs/representatives do not achieve the levels illustrated. In the 12-month period ending in December 2011, Primerica paid a total of $504,514,944 in compensation to the sales force at an average of $5,544 per licensed representative. Average RVP earnings are typically higher. Actual gross cash flow is, among other factors, dependent upon the size and scale of a representative’s organization, the number of sales and the override spread on each sale, and the ability and efforts of you and your downlines. Having said this, Primerica provides a tremendous opportunity for individuals who work hard and who desire to develop a business with strong income potential.
