Our Life on Our Terms
Before he found Primerica, Jason Kitchell of Clifton Park, NY, says he was a “broke college student” in Rhode Island, working paycheck to paycheck as a bartender and struggling to find his way. He learned about the Primerica Opportunity from his mother, who knew a leader who invited her to attend a Primerica meeting.1
“She told me I should go check it out — she thought I’d be really good at it,” he remembers. “I ended up going to a couple meetings and the environment kept me interested. In my first year, I got licensed and came to meetings to learn everything I could. The support and mentorship are what made me stay and helped me to believe in myself. If it wasn’t for their encouragement that showed me that I could succeed here, I don’t know if I would have been able to do it.” Once Jason realized he had a knack for helping people, and a cause that truly fired him up, he began to envision a future with Primerica. “It blew me away how little the average American knew about investing,” he recalls. “The fact that I could help them in ways they would never see otherwise was amazing.”
Jason got busy building his business and as soon as he started experiencing growth and success, he was hooked. “I fell in love with the concepts, the environment and the competition.”2, 3

A Perfect Partnership
Jason spent the next several years working hard building a business. He was in the process of opening an office in New York when he met Christie, a schoolteacher studying for her master’s degree. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Shortly after Jason advanced to the Regional Vice President level, the couple married, and their partnership evolved.4 Christie continued to teach, supporting their business in many different roles — from managerial duties to heading up licensing. The couple soon began to grow their family.

Rising to the Challenge
When the pandemic hit and ended the option to hold face-to-face meetings, Jason and Christie quickly adapted and found success using video conferencing to continue to build their team remotely. Shutdowns in New York forced them to stay home, but they saw opportunity in the adversity and welcomed the ability to work round the clock. “That year, our business grew and it changed our lives forever,” recalls Jason. “We really embraced the change, dove into it and we started growing our team with people all over the U.S.”
As the Kitchells’ business skyrocketed, new opportunities arose. “We prayed for an opening to see if God would allow for me to let go of my job,” recalls Christie. Within one year, their Primerica business grew enough to replace Christie’s teaching salary. “I was able to resign from my teaching job after our last baby, allowing me to retire and focus my attention on homeschooling our children,” Christie says. “Primerica gave us that flexibility.”

Freedom With Responsibility
Today, the Kitchells get to enjoy life on their terms. In addition to working together and traveling with their four kids, now ages 4, 6, 8 and 10, the couple get to impart important financial lessons to their children and watch them grow up in a winning environment. “At a young age, our kids are learning the benefits of being an entrepreneur, owning a business, and they get to learn the value of hard work,” Christie smiles. “We get to do so much because of Primerica. We cherish the freedom to spend quality time with our family and be present with our kids during their formative years. Not everyone has the chance to travel, learn, and grow together as a family, but because we own our own business, we can do it all. Primerica has given us so many opportunities.”5
The couple have their sights set on a promising future and a chance to leave a legacy. “Primerica truly delivers for families, and we are just another example of that,” Jason adds. “What we have today is freedom with responsibility. We put in a lot of hard work, and we also get to enjoy an extremely fun life because of it.”
