Freedom with Responsibility

Chris & Angela Meger
Redlands, CA
Former Occupation: Bartender

When Chris & Angela Meger, of Redlands, CA, were first introduced to Primerica and its financial concepts, Chris was a bartender and Angela was a first grade teacher. Both of their mothers had passed away and neither had life insurance, which made for both emotional and financial hardship growing up. They knew that having life insurance was important when they got married, but they didn’t know about the different kinds of life insurance and how to choose the right kind.

“Having both of our mothers pass away in their thirties, Angela and I knew it was important to get life insurance when we got married,” Chris explains. “But we didn’t know at the time of our purchase, was that there were different types of life insurance available.”

Eight years later, and with several cash value policies each, Primerica Representatives Rick and Brigitte Miller introduced the Megers to our Buy Term, and Invest the Difference philosophy, which solves two of the biggest financial needs nearly every family faces – income protection with term life insurance and saving for the future with a sound investments strategy.

Looking for More
Chris continues, “Frustrated by what we didn’t know and also recognizing that bartending was not a lifelong career, I decided to move forward and start Primerica part-time. I submitted my Independent Business Application with Angela by my side. At the time, I was already looking for a different job that worked with our schedule, so by God’s grace we were presented with this opportunity. We were both inspired by the vision and the fact that I could retire from bartending and build a business that we could one day own.”

What the Megers love the most about this business, is the ability to have freedom with responsibility. “It has always been important to us to spend as much time with our family and friends as possible,” says Chris. “This amazing business allowed me to leave the bar industry over 11 years ago and retire Angela from teaching about four years ago. We can now homeschool our kids together while living life on our terms. By taking advantage of this opportunity, we can create many more positive experiences for our family.”

Pay It Forward
He adds, “It’s an amazing feeling to pay it forward. Just like the Millers did for us, we love educating clients on life insurance and investments in an easy-to-understand, uncomplicated style while helping them build their financial house. We enjoy walking clients through our How Money Works™ financial education guide, watching them apply them, and celebrating their successes. Whether it is building wealth, paying off debt, or retiring, it is rewarding to be a part of that moment in their lives.”
