Filling a Need
Kef & Virginia Mancia, of Pasadena, CA, started their Primerica journey in 2009 like many other Representatives – by chance and when they were seeking change. Virginia was working two part-time jobs at a bank and department store when a former manager introduced her to the Primerica opportunity. Knowing her household needed more income, she decided to take a deeper dive and learn more about the Company. She not only realized that this career shift would benefit her life, but also lives within her community.
“When the information was presented to me, I was blown away by the need for it in our community, let alone in my own family,” explains Virginia. “I knew that this was where I needed to be – not only for myself but for everyone around me.”
Growing Through Adversity
The Mancias know firsthand how devastating the lack of a proper financial game plan can be. Virginia’s mother died of cancer, leaving her father with major credit card debt due to funeral costs and medical bills. Kef and his two brothers were raised by a single mother and he remembers times were lean. After meeting in high school in 2005, these two realized that they wanted more for themselves and knew that they would have to work hard to change their situation. That’s when they found Primerica.
Virginia recalls, “I remember being 11 years old, losing my mother, who was 37, to cancer and seeing my family struggle financially. I knew I had to take advantage of the Primerica opportunity and share it with everyone I knew.”
Sharing with Their Community
As they built their Primerica business, Kef and Virginia wanted to share their knowledge and the company’s financial solutions with their community. This quickly became the driving force behind their business. Whether it’s knocking on doors, working with small businesses or hosting small groups at local churches, the Mancias’ passion lies within connection.
“We love being able to impact families’ lives and to share the business opportunity with an individual who knows absolutely nothing about going into business for themselves,” the say. “We love sharing what we have learned along the way and connecting with people from all walks of life. People start as strangers and end as family!”1,
