A Ticket to Freedom

Former Occupation: Construction

Leo Suarez of Modesto, CA, believes when you make a commitment, you’re supposed to give it your all. He and his wife, Peggy, recently celebrated their forty-second wedding anniversary. They’ve also been Primerica representatives for 33 years. It’s that level of commitment that has made the Suarezes successful in life, and in business.

“When I was first approached about joining Primerica I was skeptical,” Leo admits, “After 15 minutes I wanted to hear more.1 In that first meeting my Representative, Gary Martin, set me up with a life insurance policy to help protect my income and my family.2 Then he said that I could help families just like he did with me.3 I knew then that I wanted to do it. I saw great potential and a ticket out of poverty. I never looked back.”4

From a life of living paycheck-to-paycheck, Leo says that Primerica gave him a sense of direction. “With Primerica, I gained freedom and financial security,” he says passionately. “I learned how to save money, become debt-free, protect my family with life insurance, and build a business. It brings joy to me to help other families succeed in the same way. Helping people achieve their dreams is so rewarding. It gives me the energy to keep going and never stop. I have clients reaching out to me 25 years later who are financially secure because of Primerica’s solutions and financial education.”

Peggy and Leo say they have what they consider to be the four most important things to have in life: freedom, peace, joy and happiness. “It’s what all people want,” Leo shares. “It’s what we have, and I want to help other people have that, too.”

Leo continues, “We wouldn’t have what we have now if it wasn’t for Primerica. Primerica gives you that kind of opportunity. I’ve been able to bless a lot of people. The joy is in helping others.

“I love helping people live a great life,” he says proudly. “When I sit with someone at the kitchen table, you can see that they’re guarded at first. Then the more we talk, they start leaning in. They’re looking for hope… a way out.”

Leo adds, “I tell them my story… where I came from and how Primerica was my family’s ticket to freedom. Just seeing people believe in you and that you can help them is everything. We offer hope. They know that we’ll be there for them anytime they need us. And people need us out there. I’m proud of what we do for families and that my son, Leo Jr., is now growing his Primerica business, too. It’s great to see that you can pass your business down and that your legacy will live on.5 It’s a great blessing.”
